What is ASMOF?

The Australian Salaried Medical Officers' Federation is the Australian trade union registered with Fair Work Commission to represent the industrial interests for salaried doctors, who come within the Federal Jurisdiction (Note: SASMOA is registered in the State Jurisdiction).

ASMOF's objectives are to:

  • Promote the broad interests of salaried doctors.
  • Provide services to its members, including representation before industrial tribunals and in negotiations with employers.
  • Advocate the provision and development of quality health services.

ASMOF is a federation comprised of branches in all States and Territories. Members include all levels of salaried medical practitioners – interns, residents, registrars, specialists, medical academics, medical administrators and senior medical practitioners.

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) recognises ASMOF as the principal union for salaried medical practitioners.

Please see tab ASMOF Councillors for your Branch representatives elected in August 2018 (and as vacancies occur).
